Description
Demonstrate the real-time capabilities of IBM Lotus Sametime 7.5.1 by broadcasting or conducting interactive presentations. You can show participants how they can:
- Use the enhanced instant messaging features such as spell check, emoticons, built-in Voice over IP, and more.
- Share information and applications with an easier to use Web conferencing user interface including automatic reconnections.
This is an isolated demonstration system. Even if you have a userid and password on a different demonstration system, you will need to create one to try out this system.
Requirements
Before you can log into the live demonstration, you need to:
- Register for a user name and password.
- After you register, download and install Sametime Client Connect (login required).
- Look here for help in setting up a new Sametime community. If you wish, you can then use custom community icons.
- Sametime clients require a Web browser with Sun JVM 1.4.2 or 1.5 to function correctly. Both Microsoft® Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox are supported.
System announcements
- 20 Aug 2008: This demo server (and our DEMOnet data center) will be moving in September. This system will NOT be available starting Friday morning September 19 and should be back up within a week. More will be posted here as it becomes available.
- 13 May 2008: Custom community icons have now been added to the information above on setting up a new Sametime community. Or you can go directly to Setting up custom icons for a Sametime community.
- 27 Dec 2007: The Sametime 8 and the Sametime Gateway are now available on the new Sametime 8 DEMOnet system. You will have to re-register on that server to use it.
- Maintenance window:This demo server may not be available on Wednesday evenings between 5pm and 8pm (CST) or on Saturdays when needed for maintenance and backups.
